Fatal Crash Claims 41-Year-Old Man In Laurel: Police
LAUREL, MD - A man died in a Laurel crash early Monday morning, police said.
Officers identified the victim as 41-year-old Duke Kepha Mwebi of Laurel.
Authorities said Mwebi was driving a 2021 Mercedes GLC 300 SUV north on Brock Bridge Road sometime before 1:39 a.m. That's in the Anne Arundel County section of Laurel.
Police said he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, left the right side of the road and hit a tree.
The Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department pronounced Mwebi dead on the scene, a press release said.
Officers said the victim's body was taken to the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.
Authorities said there were no crash witnesses.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
