HANOVER, MD - Several boys assaulted and robbed a male recently in a parking garage outside Arundel Mills mall in Hanover, police said.

Officers said they caught and arrested one of the suspects. Authorities only identified the arrestee as a 15-year-old boy from Columbia. This is normal protocol for minors charged with most crimes.

Police said the encounter happened last Friday around 7:50 p.m. in the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle.

Authorities said the victim was in the garage's stairwell when the group punched him in the jaw, stole his sneakers and took his iPhone.

Responding officers said they spotted one of the suspects with the victim's property.

The suspect fled, but police said they quickly caught and arrested him.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating and trying to identify the other suspects.

Officers asked anybody with information to call (410) 222-6135. Tipsters can stay anonymous by dialing (410) 222-4700.

This map shows the area where authorities said the assault and robbery happened.
