ODENTON, MD - Residents are invited to the Odenton Library Community Festival this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks will discuss the new Odenton Library Community Park, which is currently in the design phase. The $8.3 million park will have pickleball courts, a playground and walking trails. Phase One is scheduled to open in 2025. An eventual Phase Two will bring an amphitheater and a dog park.
The festival will also welcome a therapy dog from Pets on Wheels. The children's area will host kindness rock painting. There's also a library scavenger hunt.
Public school leaders will be on hand to greet students. Other community organizations will be on-site to share their resources.
Completion prizes will be available for Summer @ Your Library participants. Attendees can also treat themselves to ice pops.
At 11:15 a.m., young children can partake in an outdoor Music and Movement program. Kids will sing, chant, play instruments and dance while exploring the sounds, rhythms and patterns of the English language. Families can bring a blanket or a chair while they watch the show.
