Steve Barrett has resided in Odenton since 1993 and is highly involved in supporting the Arundel High School Music Program as a writer and photographer. A retired Army noncommissioned officer in public affairs, he remains a public affairs representative in his current Federal job in Arlington, Virginia.
Steve has been associated with Arundel High School since the 2002-2003 school year and has continued photographing the music program following his daughters' graduation from Arundel in 2006. He not only photographs the music program, he also administers the music department's Facebook page and online photo library and, this year, served as a USBands "Official Media Maker", contributing images for the national level marching band organization on local USBands competitions.
He also photographs and administers the Facebook page for the Anne Arundel Community College Jazz Band (where he also plays trumpet and flugelhorn) and served for several years as team president and publicity chair of the Piney Orchard Figure Skating Team in Odenton.
Steve is a native of Montour Falls, NY, located near Watkins Glen and its world famous road racing course in the scenic Finger Lakes Region. He has a Bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland University College and a Master's degree in communication from the University of Oklahoma.
