I've been an Odenton resident as long as I've been a Maryland resident--for going on eight years. I spend a lot of time (too much time!) commuting to 'DC, so I have less time for community involvement than I otherwise might like . . . but even so, I have not found this to be a very congenial place for adult singles "of a certain age" . . . or for young singles, for that matter. I'm hoping that the influx of new people to this area will alter that, but it's taken so long even for the promised BRAC changes to occur (and they fall so far short of the county's optimistic predictions) that I don't have a lot of faith in that either. You'll never find me at Maryland Live!; I don't go bar-hopping; and my neighbors are mostly young marrieds (and relatively transient).

So what do other people do, who aren't here with spouses?
