The Odenton Town Center Committee will hear details about more than 25,000 square feet of new retail space in the north section of town.
Odenton's development review board will examine two new projects proposed along Annapolis Road, including an apartment project and a complex with nearly 25,000 square feet of retail. The Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee will meet Tuesday and review Alliance Residential's plan for 212 apartments at Nevada Avenue and Baldwin Road. The committee had previously approved a sketch plan for the project, and will now consider a final plan with modifications. The committee will also review a new proposal for Garner Center, a retail complex planned for a two-block stretch along Annapolis Road across from Fort Meade. Nearby residents have been informed of a meeting on Wednesday to discuss plans for development on roughly 6 acres.
A local developer has scheduled a public meeting Wednesday regarding plans for home construction along North Patuxent Road. In a letter to nearby residents, Bay Engineering Inc. officials said they will hold the meeting to present its sketch plans for development on two parcels at 438 North Patuxent Rd. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the West County Area Library in Odenton. The public will have a chance to ask questions and offer comments. County property records show the two parcels comprise roughly 6 acres of land. Bay Engineering is working with Elm Street Development, which has previously presented its plans for apartments on the plot, located at the corner of North Patuxent Road and Becknel Avenue. There's a lot of construction going on in Odenton. We reported earlier Wednesday that the new Walgreens on Piney Orchard Parkway is well underway. There are also apartment complexes under construction on Telegraph Road, on Annapolis Road and near the MARC station. Plus, there's a Patient First center coming along at the Odenton Gateway site, along with a major medical office building. Which of these is most exciting to you? They need to sick to the plan, but it will take time. AJ properties is biased. They stand to make money from more housing and less retail. Odenton has more going for it than the Mall. The Marc station can be the hub for it all if they do it right. more ›
