Woman Seriously Hurt in Crash on Route 100

A witness told police that the driver of a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder was tailgating other cars and changing lanes abruptly.

A Baltimore woman was rushed to Maryland Shock Trauma with serious injuries Tuesday night after crashing her Nissan Pathfinder on Maryland Route 100. Anne Arundel County police said they responded at about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday to a report of an accident near Route 100 and Arundel Mills Boulevard in Hanover. They said that when officers arrived, they found the Pathfinder with heavy damage and a young woman lying on the roadway. The woman was later identified as Mary Kate Amrine, 19, of Veranda Court in Baltimore. Police said witnesses reported seeing the Pathfinder tailgating other cars and quickly changing lanes prior to the crash. UPDATE: Police Say Officer Feared for Safety Before Shooting

A police spokesman said the officer was responding to a call of a domestic assault on Frost Valley Lane when he got into an altercation with a man.

UPDATED (9:45 a.m. Saturday)—An Anne Arundel County police officer fatally shot a man after responding to a domestic dispute in Gambrills on Friday evening. Officers responded shortly before 6 p.m. Friday to a report of a domestic assault in the 800 block of Frost Valley Lane, according to a police press release. According to a police spokesman and witnesses on the scene, a neighbor called 911 to report hearing a woman crying out for help. The caller described hearing screams, then later seeing a woman at the front door and then watching a man pull her back into the house. Also, I did not say he was guilty. I simply stated I wouldn't be suprised if he acted to quickly and harshly. And that I support any punishment if he is guilty. Then again the dude down the street that beats his woman, I support being prosecuted as well. I support those who need prosecution being prosecuted. 3 Hospitalized in Possible Road Rage Incident

Multiple men were sent to Maryland Shock Trauma after an accident and stabbing near the Honda Powersports store in Gambrills.

A 22-year-old man was seriously hurt Monday afternoon, and two others sustained minor injuries, after a car accident and possible incident of "road rage" violence. Lt. Cliff Kooser of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said two vehicles collided at about 4:30 p.m. near the Honda Powersports store on Maryland Route 3 in Gambrills. Kooser said emergency responders took the 22-year-old man to Maryland Shock Trauma by ambulance. Another man and his son, ages unknown, were sent to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with minor injuries. Anne Arundel County police spokesman Lt. lucky no else got hurt when jeff pursed the vehicle, rammed it twice and ran it off the road! why would he approach the vehicle anyway other then just to start a fight? nice how the police only charge one person when there is enough blame on both sides! by the way how did the kid in the car know jeff was not armed??   more ›

Vehicle Strikes Road Worker Near Fort Meade

The accident happened just before noon Friday, closing Maryland Route 175 in both directions. The worker was airlifted to Shock Trauma

A road worker was seriously injured Friday after being struck by a vehicle near Maryland Route 175 at Fort Meade. Fort Meade spokesman Veronic Castro said the accident happened at 11:50 a.m., and the worker was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore. The accident closed Route 175 from Reece Road to 21st Street. Eastbound cars were directed onto Reece Road. The road was reopened at about 12:45 p.m., Castro said. Castro did not provide a sex or age of the victim. She said the emergency helicopter landed next to the visitor's control center at the main gate at Reece Road. Capt. James Rostek of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said the response was handled by Fort Meade Emergency personnel.
