Local Food Pantry Seeks Funds for Holiday Meals

The Christian Assistance Program said it received so many requests from needy families that it may not be able to fulfill them.

A food pantry supported by churches in Odenton, Severn and Gambrills said that it may not be able to provide holiday gift baskets to all of the local needy families that requested one.  Officials from the Christian Assistance Program said there is an immediate need for donations to ensure that families receive a holiday meal for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Moreover, CAP leaders said the current finances may not allow the pantry to keep up with an increasing number of people seeking food each week.
