Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Odenton and Severn

Here's a look at where to get your Irish on this weekend.

Sunday is St. Patrick's Day, and there are plenty of places to go locally to celebrate your inner Irishness. Perry's - There will be Irish drink and food specials all weekend, and the band Hightest will perform Saturday at 9 p.m. Order any beer, and they'll make it green for you.  Green Turtle - There's a two-day celebration at the Gambrills restaurant in both Hanover and Gambrills, featuring live music Saturday starting at 5 p.m. Doors open at 10 a.m. Sunday. There will be a special Irish menu and drinks specials.  J. King's - From Friday to Sunday, there will be drink specials including Killian's Drafts for $3 and Irish Car Bombs for $6.  Also be sure to see our list of places to got for St. Patrick's Day in Crofton.

Football Fans Flock to Greene Turtle in Gambrills

The restaurant at Waugh Chapel Towne Centre opened on Sept. 4, the day before the 2012 NFL season began.

Spaces to park outside the Greene Turtle in Gambrills were hard to find on Sunday afternoon as football fans were forced to seek out parking behind the Panera and near the newly opened Bed Bath & Beyond. The restaurant reportedly opened on Sept. 4, the day before the New York Giants took on the Dallas Cowboys to kick off the NFL season. The patio was packed on Sunday afternoon. Locals said they're happy to have a new place for watching sports as well as enjoying live music and American food. Mine was not so great either on Saturday. Wrong orders, wrong happy hour pricing quotes, long waits for waiter and food. I love Greene Turtle but I will not head over for a while to give them time to work the kinks out.   more ›

Greene Turtle to Conduct Interviews Wednesday

Those interested in working at the new Greene Turtle at Waugh Chapel Towne Centre can stop by J. King's Restaurant between 6 and 8 p.m.

The Green Turtle will be interviewing candidates for jobs at its newest location at Waugh Chapel Towne Centre on Wednesday. Those interested in working at the restaurant can stop by J. King’s Restaurant in Gambrills from 6-8 p.m. Anyone can apply in person, and interviews will be conducted. Depending on the level of employment, jobs could come with paid vacations, employer-matched 401k and health care, according to the Greene Turtle website.
