The restaurant in the Village at Waugh Chapel shut its doors without warning.
The Italian Market and Restaurant in Gambrills has closed its doors. The restaurant in the Village at Waugh Chapel surprised many customers when it did not open earlier this week. A sign on the door of the restaurant claims that the business is closed due to renovations. However, an employee who answered the phone at the Italian Market in Annapolis said the Gambrills restaurant is closed for good, but could re-open with a different concept. According to two potential customers, some restaurant employees also showed up to work unaware that the restaurant had closed. The Italian Market is located next to the former Damon's Grill, which closed in 2011. That building remains vacant.

When contacted, corporate Vice President for Marketing at Atlanta Bread Chris Campagna did not comment on the reason for the store’s sudden closing, but confirmed that it was not a company-owned store. Campagna also said in an email that they were still “heavily invested the state” of Maryland, with two company-owned stores operating in Greenbelt and in Severna Park. “The past two years have been ones of solid overall success for our concept, in fact we have had positive same store sales comps for 10 straight quarters, and we…
