Developers want to put a 15-foot clock tower at the corner of Town Center Boulevard and Annapolis Road. What do you think?
A local developer is eyeing the corner of Town Center Boulevard and Annapolis Road for a clock tower and signage for local businesses. The Dolben Cos. has drawn up rough plans for the monument, which would be located adjacent to the Village at Odenton Station project near the MARC station. Members of the Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee got a glimpse at the preliminary design on Tuesday night. The design features a 15-foot tower featuring the words "Odenton Town Center." The words "Village at Odenton Station" would be underneath in smaller lettering. In addition, the monument would feature space to advertise at least six businesses and would have a video display. The town center committee did not endorse or reject the …

It has become a familiar sight in Odenton: large apartment buildings, rising along the town’s major thoroughfares. There are 259 new units near the traffic circle, and another 369 units under construction along Telegraph Road. Over by the MARC station, 235 units are now available to lease. All told, Odenton has more than 1,350 apartment units either newly built, under construction or in the development pipeline. Nearly all come with high rents and luxury amenities, and all are located within a three-mile stretch of one another. Business leaders in Odenton said the apartment boom brings the promise of new residents, putting a charge into efforts to expand the town’s array of shops and restaurants. But the community is also carefully …

Enthusiasts of New Orleans cuisine will be getting a new addition in Odenton. The Po' Boy Shop and Cafe D'Orleans has signed a lease at the Village at Odenton Station, and will fill nearly 3,600 square feet of ground floor retail space. Patricia Palumbo of Metropolitan Management Company, who helped broker the lease, said the shop is one of five tenants to sign on at the Village in the last month. All of the tenants are in various stages of building out their space or obtaining permits, Palumbo said. The restaurant would be the second of its kind to open recently in west Anne Arundel County. The New Orleans Kitchen and French Market opened in May on Telegraph Road in Severn and has been well received. Other new tenants at the Village at …

The Village at Odenton Station will partner with new retailer Bear's Honeypot on three farmers markets in August. The markets will take place in front of the retail space at the Village on Thursday afternoons beginning next week. "We have this space, so we thought 'why not do something for Odenton'?" said Jillein Franquelli, the property manager at the Village at Odenton Station. The markets will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Aug. 16, 23 and 30. Sellers will include producers of fruit and vegetables, and other items including breads, jams an sauces. Construction is almost complete at the new apartment and retail complex, and new renters are moving in.
Construction work is wrapping up at Village at Odenton Station project, and new residents have been moving in there over the past month. While the project near the MARC station is still waiting for finalized leases from restaurants and shops, the Dolben Cos. are starting to see interest from people looking to move into apartments there, officials said. Property Manager Jilleien Franquelli is now working out of a new leasing center on the property. She said there have been 33 signed apartment leases out of a total of 235 units. Dolben began accepting leases in late April. "It's been great to see it come to life and see the buildings come up, and how the [residents] are responding to it," Franquelli said. The Village at Odenton Station …

I think the Odenton Town Center complex is perfect and just what we need. Integrated retail and residential zoning instead of the sprawl that covers the region so profusely. Most of us live in town homes where walkability is a joke. Seriously, when was the last time you walked anywhere? Drive to the store, drive to pick up the kids and drive to work, all completely out of necessity because we …   more ›
