Fort Meade Honors Veterans

Rep. Donna Edwards spoke of her time growing up in an Air Force family, while the father of the installation commander also told his story of serving in the Korean War.

Fort Meade continued its week-long tribute to veterans Thursday, with a special ceremony outside the installation's museum.  A healthy crowd gathered during the sunny, blustery afternoon to honor all of those who served. "We give up our unalienable rights to allow others theirs, to protect freedom and promote democracy worldwide," said Col. Edward Rothstein, the installation commander. Rothstein invited his father, a Korean War veteran, as the keynote speaker.  Harold Rothstein recalled growing up among veterans of World War I, then attending school with men returning from World War II. Early Voting Turnout Breaks Local Records

By the time early voting ended on Friday evening, 38,140 voters had cast ballots in Anne Arundel County.

More voters turned out at early voting centers Friday than on any other day in Anne Arundel County's early voting history. Check back here throughout Tuesday for live election results.  By the time early voting ended on Friday evening, a total of 38,140 voters had cast ballots, according to information with the Maryland State Board of Elections. That's an increase of more than 4,000 over 2010's total early voting results, though 2012's numbers only account for 10.9 percent of the total number of registered voters in the county. Statewide, about 11.6 percent of voters cast ballots early, with Anne Arundel voters somewhere in the middle of the turnout, and Talbot County leading the state with 23 percent of total voter turnout during early …

Ialso triedto vote multiple times at West County library and turned away because of long lines. In some instances there were traffic james extending out to Rt 175. I like Washington State because it has all mail balloting.
