The Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee has opposed plans for 48 townhomes and 3 single-family homes near North Patuxent Road and Becknel Avenue. The county could approve the plans anyway.
After more than a year of discussions, the Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee voted this week against a proposal to build new homes along North Patuxent Road. The committee voted 4-2 against the plan by Elm Street Development to bring more 48 new townhomes and three new single-family homes near North Patuxent Road and Becknel Avenue. Opponents said the concept plan showed too much home density for the area, and asked the developer to consider reducing the number of houses by a third. Neighbors and local historians were among those who said the project would not be in keeping with the area, which is currently comprised of mostly older, single-family dwellings. Supporters of the plan said it is in keeping with efforts to bring …

The new gas station and car wash would be near Charter Oaks Boulevard, at a now-vacant site of a former Chinese restaurant.
High's Dairy Stores next week will propose building a new gas station, car wash and convenience store at the corner of Annapolis Road and Charter Oaks Boulevard. The new store would fill a plot of land that has been vacant for more than a year, ever since the demolition of a former Chinese restaurant on the site. Officials from High's are expected to present their plan at the Tuesday, July 31 meeting of the Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee. The landowner, Frank Dimick, struck a deal with High's after a similar proposal with BP gas stations fell through. High's would bring another hybrid convenience/gas station location to Odenton, similar to the Royal Farms store at the corner of Annapolis Road and Blue Water Boulevard. Other …

An Annapolis developer said he will scale back plans for new homes along North Patuxent Road after hearing feedback from local residents and historians. Tim Hogan of The Hogan Companies said he will likely draw up plans for about 60 three-story townhomes on eight acres just to the east of the Odenton MARC station, and will keep intact at least two historic homes. Earlier plans had called for apartments or as many as 90 townhomes as high as four stories. Hogan spoke briefly at Tuesday's Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee meeting, but did not present formal plans for the project. He said he could present rough plans as early as the town center committee’s March meeting. "People didn't want it to be overbuilt, didn't want it to be …
