Talented alumni and faculty from Annapolis Area Christian School will perform at the Kerr Center for the Arts on Saturday.

Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) alumni are gathering Saturday at 7:30 p.m. for an evening of artistic performances at the Kerr Center for the Arts.  Known as the Faculty, Alumni and Friends Concert, the show will feature performances by students who have graduated, as well as talented staff members. Song of the Eagle Show Dazzles Severn Audience

Boy scouts, girl scouts and Eagle Scouts performed Native American-inspired dances that left the audience in awe Saturday evening.

Boy and girl scouts wearing feathered headdresses, elaborate shawls, war paint and moccasins rhythmically stomped and spun to the beat of a giant drum in the Kerr Center for the Arts Saturday evening. About 50 scouts from three different dance groups—the Kwahadi group of Amarillo, Texas, the Koshare group of La Junta, Colo. and the Kossa group of Sulphur, La.—danced in Saturday’s “Song of the Eagle” show, consisting of several different Native American-inspired dances, including a friendship dance that brought audience members onstage. Reknowned Educator Addresses Learning Issues

AACS hosted Dr, Kathy Hopkins of National Institute of Learning Development

The educator visited Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) last night and gave a lecture titled "Teaching How to Learn in a What-to-Learn Culture." The educator, who is the executive director of the National Institute of Learning Development, offered her advice to the gathered group of about 70 teachers, parents and students at AACS's Kerr Center for the Arts. In …

Princeton Footnotes Perform at Kerr Center for the Arts

Annapolis Area Christian School hosted the famed a cappella group from Princeton University.

The Annapolis Area Christian School in Severn got its own little taste of glee this month when it hosted Princeton Footnotes, the famed, all-male a cappella group from Princeton University on Nov. 3. The Footnotes' performance was the first show in the AACS Fine Arts series for the 2010-2011 school year. The auditorium at Kerr Center was almost completely full and the evening's performances began with a prayer by Diane Smith, chair of the Fine Arts Department at AACS. The Upper School Choirs from AACS performed first. The energetic rendition of an African song by the Men's Ensemble had the audience hooting and stomping along, and set the stage for the Princeton Footnotes' act later in the evening. "It's been an interesting week," said …
