Odenton residents were stunned Wednesday to see an large apartment fire in Seven Oaks, just a month after a blaze struck another nearby building. Photographer Josh Kruger was on scene for the latest blaze, and captured these images of firefighters in action. Many of the images feature members of the Fort Meade Fire Department, which came to assist Anne Arundel County firefighters in the two-alarm incident. Smoking Materials to Blame in Seven Oaks Fire

Fire investigators said a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex in Seven Oaks may have been triggered by smoking materials that were improperly discarded.

A fire in at an apartment complex in Seven Oaks on Wednesday may have been caused by smoking materials that were improperly discarded, fire department officials said.  Division Chief Michael Cox of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said that investigators believe the cause of the fire was accidental in nature.  The fire destroyed several units in the apartment complex on Kintore Circle and damaged about a dozen units. Cox said about 30 people have been impacted by the fire, though property managers in Seven Oaks said they hope to find new apartments for those displaced. Fire Hits Seven Oaks Apartments Again

Firefighters are on the scene of the blaze at Kintore Circle in the Seven Oaks section of Odenton

Updated - (4 p.m.)—A fire has torn through an apartment building in Odenton, not far from where a blaze struck about a month ago.  Fire officials said the fire affected about 12 units, displacing as many as 30 people.  The blaze began shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday near the 2000 block of Kintore Circle. Firefighters quickly entered the building to an effort to suppress the flames and find anyone inside, according to Division Chief Michael Cox of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.  However, the fire spread to all three levels of the building, and firefighters were forced to battle the blaze from the outside using elevated water streams, Cox said.  Cox said it took 60 firefighters from the Anne Arundel County and the Fort Meade fire …

Seven Oaks Fire Causes $750,000 in Damage

As many as a dozen apartment units were impacted by a fire Sunday night. Three firefighters sustained minor injuries.

An apartment complex in Seven Oaks sustained $750,000 in damages during a fire Sunday night, and community managers worked overnight to assist those displaced by the blaze, a fire department spokesman said.  Lt. Cliff Kooser said that as as many as a dozen apartment units were directly affected by the fire at Military Place in Odenton. Crews were on scene for more than six hours Sunday night, with more than 60 firefighters working to battle the blaze. Kooser said three firefighters sustained minor injuries and were treated at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.  Displaced residents gathered at the Seven Oaks Community Center, where property managers worked to find temporary housing arrangements for them.  Kooser said the cause of the fire…
