Severn Crooner Wins Annapolis Idol Competition
The first man to win the local competition beat out 13 other singers in the final rounds Sunday night.
A Severn resident became the first man to win the Annapolis Idol competition, as he crooned his way to a victory Sunday night in the fifth installment of the major fundraiser for the Anne Arundel Conflict Resolution Center. Rob Spengler, a regular voice at karaoke nights at Stan and Joe's Saloon in Annapolis, sang his way into the top three singers out of the 14 finalists who performed at Wild Willy's Rock House in Parole. The other two singers in the top three were Amanda Rae Jensen of Churchton and Kaeti Bradley of Arnold. Spengler said he's never really pursued music as a career, though the victory may change that.
