Archbishop Spalding Wins MIAA B Football Championship

The rushing of the Cavaliers' K.K. Smith helped Archbishop Spalding defeat the Friars, 21-13.

The Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers won the MIAA B Conference championship on Saturday, defeating the Archbishop Curley Friars 21-13 and avenging a loss earlier this season. The game was played before a sellout crowd at John M. Plevyak Field at Mount St. Joseph High School in cool temperatures and brilliant sunshine.  Leading The Cavaliers' attack was standout senior running back K.K. Smith, who piled up 108 yards on 28 carries. "K.K. is the best running back in all of Anne Arundel County, " said Spalding Head Coach Mike Whittles. "He makes us coaches look like geniuses."
