Arundel High Student in Running for State Board Seat
Christian Hodges is one of three students from the county named as a semifinalist to serve on the Maryland State Board of Education.
An Arundel High School student is one of five students vying for a seat on the Maryland State Board of Education. Christian Hodges, a junior at Arundel, has been a named a semifinalist for a board seat along with two other students from Anne Arundel County. Hodges was selected following an interview process involving fellow students and one adult. There will be an election on Jan. 26 to determine the two finalists for the board, and Gov. Martin O'Malley will make the final selection. Students from Montgomery County and Howard County were also among the semifinalists. Student members of the state board have limited voting rights. Sounds like the inmates are running the prison, again. Our adult school board can only vote to spend more money, so we are going to install a student to help them.
