Arundel Musicians Seek Instruments Through 'Great Give'

The Anne Arundel County Great Give kicks off Wednesday night. Nonprofits participating including the Arundel Instrumental Music Association

Several local nonprofits have signed up to receive donations through the GreatGive of Anne Arundel County, which kicks off Wednesday evening.  Beginning at 7 p.m., anyone can hop online and donate money to a wide range of causes. The GreatGiveAAC runs for 24 hours.  The program is being run by Razoo, an online movement allowing groups to set up online fundraising. The group claims to have helped raise more than $150 million for various nonprofits. Here's a look at the organizations in the Odenton and Severn area seeking donations through the GreatGiveAAC. Arundel Band Performs Well at National Championships

The band finished 15th out of 24 bands at the tournament held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The Arundel High marching band and color guard followed up a state championship with a solid showing Saturday at the USBands National Championships in New Jersey. The band had the chance to perform at MetLife Stadium—home of the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets—and finished 15th out of 24 bands in its division.  Performing its original show based on the theme of "time," the band recorded a score of 91.325, less than five points off the winning tally. The Arundel band, led by music director Ian Burns, entered the national competition after winning a state championship in its group at Towson University on Nov. 3.
