Second Water Main Break Disrupts Annapolis Road

A second water main break has forced the closure of a lane on westbound Annapolis Road near the Patient First.

A second water main break in Odenton has forced a lane closure on Annapolis Road in the east section of Odenton, the county Department of Public Works (DPW) reported.  DPW said shortly before 4 p.m. that it responded to a break near Annapolis Road and Sappington Station Road.  Crews from the county and State Highway Administration were on the scene just west of the traffic circle near the Patient First. Some water was in the roadway and the right, westbound lane was closed.  The break comes after DPW was wrapping up separate repair work on a 12-inch main at Odenton Road and Stoney Hill Circle. About 30 customers, including Odenton Elementary School, were without water service for most of Tuesday morning.

Update: Water Service Restored Along Odenton Road

About 30 customers, including Odenton Elementary School, were without water service after a water main broke.

Updated (11:30 a.m.)—Water service has been restored to customers near Odenton Road, after crews worked to repair a 12-inch water main. The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works (DPW) spent the morning fixing the main at Odenton Road and Stoney Hill Court. About 30 customers, including Odenton Elementary School, were without water service on Tuesday morning.  Odenton Road remained closed as DPW crews complete repair work.  The department said some residents of Severna Park could also be without service due to a smaller water main break near Swinton Way at St. Bee's Drive.
