Arundel Upset in County Title Game
The Annapolis Panthers handed Arundel its only loss in the county this season.
After making it through the regular season without a loss in county, the Arundel High boys basketball team fell to Annapolis Wednesday in the county title game. Annapolis secured the title with a 51-49 win over Arundel as time expired. The Wildcats had not lost to a team from Anne Arundel County since a similar buzzer-beater loss to Old Mill last year. The Capital reported that Juan Brown stole the ball in the waning seconds and ran the length of the floor to drain a layup right at the buzzer. Both Annapolis and Arundel will now prepare for the MPSSAA playoffs. Annapolis is the No. 4 seed in the Class 3A East bracket, and secured a first-round bye.
