What about all the ballplayers and entertainers? I don’t care that David M. Zaslav madeRead More $33,349,798. It does bother me that too many Ravens and Orioles players make tens of millions of dollars, thereby driving ticket prices beyond reach for my family.

It's nobody's business what executives of private companies make. They got where they are by doingRead More things that most people aren't willing or are too lazy to do. I'm a private business owner in Maryland and I work my ass off to the tune of 60 hours a week. I bear burdens and responsibilities that my employees don't bear. On weekends when they're out enjoying their lives, I'm at the office. Let's say in 10 years, all this hard work pays off and I become a millionaire. Are my employees entitled to say "that ain't fair"? What about fairness to me??? My guess is that these executives paid their dues and therefore have EARNED the right to be where they are. If they choose to give some of their money away, well that's wonderful and I would respect them for that. But nobody has the right to criticize these people, unless of course their salaries with our taxes which are intended to be used to benefit the taxpayer. But a CEO of a private company? I don't have any respect for, nor will I ever hire any of you who say life isn't fair because they make more than you.

Well said "Life". Private business owners also: -Gamble by using their houses andRead More everything else they own to personally guarantee bank loans, property leases (sometimes for as long as 20 years), purchases, etc. -Get late night phone calls about robberies and other emergencies -Can never really get away on vacation to completely relax. -Lay in bed at night trying to get to sleep while worrying about Obamacare, meeting the next payroll and all the other crises that pop up on a daily basis. And for that, you should be ashamed because you are successful? I don't think so.

The price of pork can also go up because the price of beef is up. It's not just weather andRead More disease, it's also cost of fuel.

With prices rising in all industries, I call it the disease of liberal Democrats! And it is theRead More disease that will wipe out civilization!
mark April 18, 2014 at 08:23 am
When taxes are imposed on various industries then to stay in business the prices increase on theRead More consumer! Obamacare , gas taxes, payroll taxes, tolls, the proposed soda and candy tax , your tobacco tax is 75% of what the product really costs! Commercial Property tax increases! Do you people see what's going on here? This country is being destroyed by the Democrats! It is starting to resemble The a Soviet Union! We should change the name of this country to the USSA!

Hearing some good things about Heather. Going to take a look but Gansler seems to be running strongRead More and of course Brown's Ads are good.
Bob Bobbers April 4, 2014 at 09:26 am
LT Governors usually don't far well in Maryland. That leaves us with Gansler. He strikes me as justRead More another corrupt politician who is only interested in himself.
MoCoRes April 4, 2014 at 11:45 am
Yes, Maryland arguably has good schools and jobs at the moment. But a quick trip around the BeltwayRead More will show you that Virginia and D.C. are progressing and developing. Do I think it's becasue of lax rules in those areas? Maybe but not entirely. I'm a Democrat and I gladly voted for O'Malley. But my biggest problem with progressives in Maryland and other places is they tend to be more interested in activism rather than governing. Should businesses be able to walk all over us and do whatever they want? No. But there needs to be a proper balance between attracting business and regulations. And I don't think Maryland has it right now. Regarding the next governor, I don't know Brown and Mizeur all that well. But I don't trust Gansler.

GO WEGMANS! And since the evil city of Westminster does not have a Wegmans (nor do they deserveRead More one!), it's a win win to take your hard earned dollars and spend it in a city that doesn't treat their residents as criminals! I used to feel guilty when I shopped at Wegmans. NOT ANY MORE!! Best food store on the planet!!!
Maryellen Brady April 1, 2014 at 11:00 am
Good for Wegmans, I sure hope they pay their employees well, promote from within and most of allRead More dont rely on taxpayers as does WALMART for their government corporate subsidies. Each WALMART costs taxpayers $900,000 a year. It would be good to know if WEGMANS is a real plus to the community, as is Costco.

Bryan Harz February 17, 2014 at 09:23 am

Doesn't look good! Not good publicity for First Mariner Bank and I don't blame the investors ifRead More they take all their money now!
macgeek February 11, 2014 at 11:42 am
I dont trust any banks anymore. they all follow the same outdated rules which help them and not us.Read More they win and we lose. borrow money and they charge 19% interest or more. if I save money, they give me .001% interest. seems a little one sided don't you think?
