Let me see, it needs 50 to break even, it gets 15, probably all government workers, so it seems toRead More me taxpayers are just paying for more government worker entitlements. But we can't get more police to help everyone in the county.
Elizabeth Ann June 9, 2013 at 10:36 am
paying for government worker entitlements? government people have not had a pay raise since 2008 --Read More going through a furlough and you think their entitled? They need to advertise this is the first time I have ever heard this and I think it's a great!!! I have seen the bus but did not know what it does now I do know I will make sure the word is spread around! Lets get 50 people to break even to start I say lets keep the government workers entitled!

People are so focused on public transit "paying for itself". who is paying for the freeRead More parking, the roads bridges, etc. that allow people to drive their car to work every day? I'll give you a hint, it's all of us. The gas tax does not cover it all.

Why is the State/Count contributing to the race track? Isnt that privately owned?
BadStatistics June 6, 2013 at 05:30 pm
Run by the State, not privately.
patricia June 7, 2013 at 11:59 am
Wait till O'Malley, Miller and Busch figure out how to raid that fund. The revenue is probablyRead More already starting to disappear. Sure do how the state auditor is keeping track of that money.
Ben Dover June 6, 2013 at 09:22 pm
I do not think they deserve another appeal the only reason they will get one is because they brideRead More the officials. The officials have been bribed for way too long that is why we have appeal after appeal. I will bring my checkbook to the meeting, this way I can pay off the board of appeals to not give another extension. Crooks

What about all the wetlands and wildlife in that area? Not a good use of our precious wildlifeRead More habitat left in this county.
Chris W June 8, 2013 at 03:30 am
It's a farce that they are even talking about continuing with this. West county is not theRead More unpopulated rural area it once was. There is no place in west county for these landfills anymore.

What a fantastic opportunity for Barret and for some wise investor(s). I am continually amazed andRead More excited by the new local products he is able to find and stock at the Honeypot. The strawberries we got last week were just great--like those my grandmother grew in her garden on the farm on which I grew up. None of this hollow strawberry crap you get from the regular stores. These were red and juicy all the way through. And there is some new dairy products he's getting. The coffee milk (think frappuccino, but without all the Starbucks elitism) is so good. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but this stuff is smooth and tasty--very addictive! Can't say enough about Barret or the Honeypot. Definitely a local treasure that everyone should check out.
Kevin Brennan June 5, 2013 at 01:36 pm
That's sad. I agree above about the strawberries. I wish they could do both locations.
Arlene June 5, 2013 at 04:12 pm
Overpriced. Glad they are moving. Went in a few times and bought nothing. They will not last. We getRead More our MD strawberries at Diehls Produce market in Severna Park. They are the best and prices are great !

Will this affect the commissary's hours when they are open?
Tim Lemke (Editor) May 30, 2013 at 02:40 pm
Gerri - good question. The commissary will be closed on Mondays during the furlough period. AllRead More other hours of operation will remain the same.

Anything about Kimbrough Ambulatory Climic closing a day a week? Heard Weds was proposed but haventRead More heard a final decision.
Bryant May 29, 2013 at 12:24 am
Agreed. Parking and increased roadways are an awfully expensive solution. Most of the train stopsRead More that have parking garages charge at least 4 and sometimes 9 dollars a day. We have TWO THOUSAND 'free' parking spaces.
Bryant May 29, 2013 at 12:27 am
You're not being penalized. You're asking the city and county to provide roadways and parking forRead More your convenience at no cost to you as a user. (more roadways have proven multiple times not to reduce travel speeds, btw)
Susan Cunningham June 6, 2013 at 10:14 pm
I have used the shuttle a few times. In the morning, it's very convenient. The shuttle picks me upRead More and we arrive at the train station in time to catch the train, but in the evening, there's a lengthy wait in the parking lot for the shuttle to arrive. The other evening, I saw it pulling out of the parking lot just as the train had pulled into the station.

Janis and MaryJane, go spend this energy on your relationship with your husband and your kids. TheyRead More might appreciate you being involved in their lives vs. angrily banging away at a computer and making comments on chat boards. Then again, maybe they like you staying away from them.....

Milestone Communications is a Virginia company and their law firm is in Virginia. Guess you haven'tRead More read the Master Lease to find out who is now calling the shots on Anne Arundel County Public School sites.

So what drives a person two counties away to post 30+ times in 24 hours. Just looking out forRead More total strangers. Paying it forward? You have an agenda. No facts, just fear . Pickup trucks running down kids, hazmat, sulfuric acid......... And on and on. I could care less about the tower but I can't stand people that use a forum like this to spread fear and misinformation all for a hidden agenda.
Chris W May 21, 2013 at 01:18 am
So let me see if I have this straight. You are upset that the company is paying the school systemRead More rather then paying taxes? That a bit like being upset that someone paid to fill your tank with gas rather than giving you a gas card. To further this absurd conversation, are you similarly upset that apartment renters are not paying and property taxes?

Has any of that new office building in Seven Oaks been leased? Looks as it if has not been occupied.
