Ark and Dove was formed in December of 1991 with fewer than 90 members and has since grown to more than 250. When it was formed, the church was the first new congregation in the Presbytery of Baltimore in more than ten years.

The church building was constructed in 1996. 

Ark and Dove offers traditional and contemporary music services, Sunday school for children, a youth program on Tuesday afternoons,  camping groups and book discussions.

Pastor Tim Stern has been with the church since its founding. 

Ark and Dove is also home to a school of music that offers classes and instruction in piano, voice, guitar, brass instruments, flute, piccolo, composition and theory.
