Food Pantry in Need of New Freezer

The food pantry operated by the Christian Assistance Program does not have the ability to store all of the frozen goods it receives.

A freezer recently broke down at the food pantry at the , resulting in the spoilage of meat that was stored inside.

The food pantry, which operates twice weekly and serves needy residents of Odenton, Severn, Gambrills and Fort Meade, is now looking for a replacement freezer.

The pantry has one freezer that still works, but it's not large enough to handle deliveries of all of the frozen beef, chicken, hot dogs and other meat.

If you have an extra freezer you wish to donate, or can help in any other way, email Jean McHenry at mchenrysnorth40@verizon.net

If they contact Bruce at the Crowwnsville Food Bank he may have a freezer that they can have for free. Being new to the area we stopped by to see if he needed any volunteers (we did this in Mass and found it very fulfilling). He is a wonderful person always looking to help others. Their facility is hugh. They even have cars that they give to those truly in need.
