Developer Proposes Housing, Commercial Complex Near Parkway

The project on 13 acres near Clark Road and Route 175 would have 300,000 square feet of homes and 300,000 square feet of commercial space.

A developer will submit a plans later this month on a large housing and commercial project near the entrance to the Baltimore Washington Parkway in Jessup

Potomac Holdings LLC is proposing to build 300,000 square feet of residential space and another 300,000 square feet of commercial at the intersection of Clark Road and Route 175. 

The developer will present a sketch plan of the project to the public on June 18 at 6 p.m. at the Provinces Library in Severn. 

If developed, the 13-acre project would add to the housing and commercial space being developed at the west end of Route 175. The proposed project is across from the Parkside project in Severn, and is close to the south end of the Arundel Preserve development.

Route 175 was widened in that area, so that's something. Will be interesting to see how it may impact traffic, though.

What's being built in Woodwardville just south of Piney Orchard? Lots of trucks and huge sewage lines going in.

175 was widened from the parkway to Disney road (about 1 mile) but the bridge over 295 is still single lanes and beyond is too. Pioneer city, what do you do? Burn it down?

Construction of the Chesapeake Terrace Landfill is in full effect....you can't stop them now baby...very smart move on the developer's part....just start making it happen and make them make you stop...not...

Work has begun to construct utilities for the adults only subdivision proposed down between Conway Rd and Meyers Station Rd. That is the developer who tried to get out of the community agreement for adult only development.

I sure hope they put in a working light, instead of the fire station activated one, at the corner of 175 and Clark Rd. Certain time of the day it is nearly impossible to get out of Clark Rd.

Will the developer try to cheat the system and get kids in his new devleopment sent somewhere besides Meade HS? Keeping the kids out of that combat zone alone would increase values 20%.

The minor widening of 175 for a short stretch nowhere near will accommodate the traffic. It won't even keep up with the existing traffic much less all the additional development going on there.
