POLL: How Often Have You Visited Maryland Live!?

The casino at Arundel Mills has been open for about two months. Are you a repeat visitor?

The Maryland Live! casino at Arundel Mills has been open for about two months.

The facility has pulled in $63 million in two months, making it easily the highest revenue casino in the state. It's also the largest, after the operators added more than 500 slot machines in addition to the 3,000 already installed.

Lawmakers are in Prince George's County.

There was a lot of excitement when Maryland Live! opened on June 6. But have you been back since it opened?

We want to know how often area residents have visited the new casino.

Vote in the poll and feel free to leave a comment below.

Parking is good (valet). Food is terrible. Service is terrible. A real waste of time and money.
TJ August 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM
Three times, for a total of about 45m. It is a nice facility but always crowded.
Chris W August 14, 2012 at 11:18 AM
Never have, never will unless they get table games.
michele August 14, 2012 at 11:26 AM
Havnt been at all. Not much of a gambler. Might go for the restaurants bit after seeing what everyone posts about service I might just change my mind.

Same as michele: Havn't been at all. Not much of a gambler. Might go for the restaurants but after seeing what everyone posts about service I might just change my mind. I live within walking distance, but am not attracted enough to casino life.

Never have. Never will.

We went on a Tuesday and had a great time. It wasn't crowded and I won $150. We only stayed about an hour but we'll definitely go back. But we like casinos and gambling so we may have a different perspective!

I watched many lose their week's pay playing State-sponsored Keno. I doubt they are disciplined enough to stay out of this place. I am sorry for their families.

I am disappointed with Maryland Live. While it is the third largest casino in the US, it definitely needs lessons in customer development. I am not a high roller, but do enjoy going to the casino, not just for the slots! I have not received one offer - in spite of having signed up online pre-opening - from Maryland Live. On a weekly basis I receive free offers - free food, parking, slot $ - from Dover Downs, Total Rewards (Harrah's), Hollywood Casino (been there once in Perryville and once Charles Town), and Las Vegas. I pay full price for food at Maryland Live and get no slot credits (which I just give back + more to the casino). Their customer development sucks! I do have to disagree with the other comments about the food and service. The food at both Bobby's Burger and Cheescake factory were outstanding and the service was great once they worked through the opening kinks. The service on the floor of the casino is non-existent!. Come on Maryland Live, you can do better!

Guess I am not doing my part for Maryland schools either. Have not been. But then again I haven't been to Perryville either. Then again in the 29 years I have lived here I have only been to Atlantic City once and Charlestown once.

Casinos irritate me in general; they feel "icky" and smell of desperation and armpits. But, I have heard good things about Bobby's Burgers, so I would like to try it, but probably will order it carry-out.
Kat August 14, 2012 at 02:21 PM
Thanks but no thanks - got better things to do with my money!!
Kevin Brennan August 14, 2012 at 02:51 PM
they do have table games.. per se - LOL. Just all electronic. I understand how some people love the feel of the cards, chips and interacting with the dealer though.
Kevin Brennan August 14, 2012 at 03:03 PM
agree Karen.... not to be TOO judgmental on my part but looking around at who was playing ... some people don't look like they can afford to be throwing money to the wind like that. I have only been twice. I didn't have any cash the 1st time so I just looked. This past time I went crazy - $5. LOL! The woman next to me burned through $50 in about 2 minutes on the slot machine! Wow!

Haven't been and won't go. Also seriously limiting any trips to Arundel Mills. Parkinng and traffic infrastructure wasn't able to handle things before that eyesore and lo and behold it is worse now with that concrete behemoth squatting in place. The garage did nothing to help direct the flow of traffic and the additional turn lane off of 100W onto 713 has become a race-and-cut off hazard. Nice job, Cordish, all those payoffs and all your busfuls of "suporters" add up to just an epic fail.
Calique August 14, 2012 at 03:40 PM
Right after you make the left onto 713 from that additional "lane" of the turn-off, it becomes the turn lane to get right back on 100E! People who don't know this ahead of time ALWAYS cut-off the folks who are in the middle lane! Yeah, that was silly.
Calique August 14, 2012 at 03:41 PM
Yeah, a casino is *not* a retirement plan!!
Jeff Andrade August 14, 2012 at 05:04 PM
I will to continue to boycott the world's only casino at a shopping mall -- Cordish's glorified parking garage. Hope others will do the same. I'll choose to place my wagers at Maryland horse racing tracks and at table games in real casinos out of state. Can't wait to see this white elephant and the one in Perryville go into the tank.
Diane Milleville August 14, 2012 at 08:59 PM
Never & don't plan to. It's a tax on stupid people.
Bee August 15, 2012 at 02:55 AM
Won $36 and have not been back. The only reason I played at all was I won $50 when they were signing up people at the mall. I've eaten at the Cheesecake Factory and Bobby Flay's and the food was excellent at both restaurants. I would recommend. Wonder why the casino does not have a gift shop.
Tim Lemke (Editor) August 15, 2012 at 04:39 AM
FYI, the legislature reportedly approved expanded gambling late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning. This means some competition for Maryland Live!, but they'll be able to add live table games, which are known to bring in a slightly younger and more affluent clientele, FWIW.
MAW August 15, 2012 at 02:59 PM
Never will!!!!
Helen August 16, 2012 at 08:55 PM
Totally agree with Heide P. this casino does not belong in the mall. I rarely went to the mall because pf the traffic, poor parking and the over-crowding and noise once inside. Was at the Olive Garden recently and the traffic congestion and dangerous maneuvers were sorely escalated. People standing every where in the parking lots and walking across the roadways to getv o the mall, because they parked in the restatrants' lots. I doubt that money received by AA county or Maryland will be used for the things they said it would be when trying to get it passed so Cordis could build. PG Cpunty has enough problems. Do not ruin The National Harbor area with another casino. Build the darn things so they dont interfere with ones normal way of life. MD has lots of land use it more wisely!!
hawkeye August 16, 2012 at 10:49 PM
@ Tim Lemke: Let's see about that because right now the only people at the Maryland Live! are blacks who are probably the least likely to be able to afford the gambling.
Calique August 16, 2012 at 10:57 PM
We've really liked going to Joe's Crab Shack and Yogi Castle since they opened, but that little area there, near Chipotle, Pot Belly, Joe's, Yogi, Golden Corral, etc. is awful for parking and maneuvering. Why people parallel park along the curbs there I will never know... it's hellaciously rude and dangerous!
Dean Smith September 11, 2012 at 12:58 PM
Jeff, I agree wtih you 100% in that I will continue to boycott Maryland Live!!
