The Maryland Live! casino saw a 12 percent rise in revenue in November while other casinos stayed roughly flat, the Maryland Lottery reported Wednesday.
The casino near Arundel Mills reported $34,365,182 in revenue in November, about $3.7 million higher than in October.
Maryland Live! has about 4,750 slot machines in operation, and added more than 1,000 in September. The casino opened in June and is the largest and highest-grossing gaming facility in the state.
Hollywood Casino in Perryville generated $5.4 million in November, essentially flat from October. The casino at Ocean Downs pulled in $3.3 million, down from $3.5 million in October.
Maryland's three casinos combined to generate $43 million in November.
Without factoring in the major boost from Maryland Live! casino, Maryland's gaming revenue is down 28.5 percent—or $3.478 million—since last year.
The revenue per machine per day breaks down as follows:
- Maryland Live! casino: $241.16
- Casino at Ocean Downs: $138.14
- Hollywood Casino Perryville: $120.48
Casinos in Maryland are expected to add live table games in 2013, after voters approved a measure allowing expanded gambling and a license for a new casino in Prince George's County.
