The body of an adult man who apparently committed suicide has been tentatively identified as Kahlil Tatum, the suspected abductor of a little girl, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said Monday evening in a news conference. Officials caution though that they had not yet positively identified the body as that of the 51-year-old man.

A body that "appears to be" Tatum, Lanier said, was found Monday in Kenilworth Park, where officers from several jurisdictions have been searching for the missing 8-year-old Relisha Rudd,.

“Everything we have is consistent with what we know about his appearance,” Lanier said. The body was found inside the search area of the 700-acre park, the chief said, and doznes of searchers were to resume their search for the girl.

"We'll probably be here for several days," Lanier said.

Rudd was last seen March 1. She was with Tatum, a janitor for a homeless shelter in Washington where she lived with her mother.

Yeah, your title could use re-wording.
