A woman in Hanover reported being injured Tuesday morning when a man broke into her mobile home and stole her car, police said.
Anne Arundel County police responded at about 7:45 a.m. to the 100 block of Chesapeake Mobile Court, and spoke with the 65-year-old victim who said a man entered her home while she was asleep on the couch.
The victim reported that the man held the her down and demanded cash and the keys to her car, then struck her with a blunt object.
The suspect then drove off in the woman's car, police said.
The woman told police that the suspect implied that he had a weapon, but that she did not actually see one.
The victim was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries from the assault.
The stolen car is a 2002 Hyundai Accent with Maryland plates DPB946.
It is unclear whether the suspect and victim knew each other, but police said the man wore a handkerchief over his face.
