Anne Arundel County police responded to two burglaries on Friday morning in Gambrills and Odenton, and said detectives are examining whether the two incidents are connected.
Police said in a press release that they first responded at about 4 a.m. to the Paceway store on Defense Highway in Gambrills. Officers arrived to find that someone had forced their way into the business and forcibly removed an ATM machine. There was no evidence that any cash was stolen from the machine.
Witness identified two men as possible suspects, but police did not locate them.
Two hours later, police responded to a similar incident at the BP Station at the 1600 block of Annapolis Road in Odenton. Officers said it appeared someone forced their way into the building, and that the ATM was damaged on the floor. The inside of the convenience store was also in disarray and it appeared some items were stolen, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
