Police: Four Teens Tried to Rob Pizza Driver

Three boys were charged with attempted robbery and another one is at large following the incident on Wood Carriage Way in Severn.

Anne Arundel County police arrested three teenage boys following a report of an attempted robbery of a Papa Johns delivery driver.

Police said in a press release that they responded at about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday to the pizza shop at 2649 Annapolis Rd. in Hanover, and spoke to a delivery driver. The driver told police that he had tried to deliver a large order to a home at the 7700 block of Argonaut Ct. in Severn, but residents told him they didn't place the order.

Police said the driver was then flagged down by a teenage boy who claimed the order was his, and intended for a home on Wood Carriage Way. The driver then went to that location and was met by three other teens on the parking lot. A fourth teen was also there, but didn't approach the driver.

At this point, the driver sensed something was wrong and did not get out of his car, police said.

One of the teens reached into the car, but the driver fended him off. Police said another teen demanded the driver turn over the food order, but the driver refused and drove off.

Officers searched the area of Wood Carriage Way and found three of the four boys and took them into custody. They charged them with armed robbery before releasing them to their parents. An investigation revealed that the teens planned the crime together, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police said the arrested suspects include a 13-year-old boy, 15-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy, all from Severn. The fourth suspect, still at large, is described only as a teenage boy.

And when the pizza delivery places refuse to deliver to this neighborhood, the residents will be all up in arms complaining, but they only have their own children/neighbors to blame for ruining it for everyone.
