A Millersville man was arrested on arson charges Friday after officials said he lit a fire at a home under construction in Severn.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department said Torian Andrew Mack was identified by the manager of a construction site at the 8100 block of Cornfield Lane. According to fire officials, the construction manager saw Mack at the scene after noticing graffiti damage to one home and fire damage to another. When the construction manager confronted Mack, he fled into the woods.

Anne Arundel County police officers investigated and found Mack in the area and arrested him, based on the description provided by the construction manager.

Fire officials said Mack caused $2,000 in damage to the homes. The incident happened at about 10:15 a.m. Friday.

Police charged Mack with one county of second-degree arson, two counts of malicious burning, two counts of destruction of property, two counts of burglary and one count of reckless endangerment.
