An Annapolis man hired to babysit a child has been charged with sexually abusing the child in the family’s home.
Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division received a report of possible child sex abuse on March 20. The incidents took place over seven months in 2013.
Police charge that Andrew Dickinson Grabau, 22, of 2900 blocks of Poplar Trail in Annapolis, had sexually abused the child over several months while acting as a babysitter hired by the victim’s parents. Family members said they left their child in the care of Grabau on numerous occasions between April 2013 and October 2013.
On March 27, Grabau was arrested on a warrant. He was charged with sex abuse of a minor, third- and fourth-degree sex offenses, and second-degree assault. He was released on $25,000 bail.
