On Sunday, September 1, the Odenton Heritage Society will open an expanded display about amateur baseball leagues in Odenton in the 1940s and 1950s. Photographs of teams, players, and playing fields will be displayed, along with trophies donated by the late Gordon "Babe" Phelps, a member of the Odenton Baseball Club who also became a catcher with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Pat Fairall, an OBC member in the late 1940s, will be available to talk to visitors.
The Odenton Heritage Society Museum is located at 1367 Odenton Road, one block west of Piney Orchard Parkway. Hours on September 1 will be from 1 pm to 4 pm. For more information, see www.odentonheritage.org
