More Slot Machines Arrive at Maryland Live!

The casino in Anne Arundel County received approval this week for more than 500 new machines that include electronic table games.

The Maryland Live! casino, which opened in June with more than 3,000 slot machines and electronic table games, continued to expand its offerings this week.

The Maryland Lottery announced Thursday that it tested and approved 531 additional slot machines and electronic table games at the casino located at Arundel Mills in Hanover. Patch previously reported that more than 1,500 machines would be added by the fall.

The new machines will be ready for the public to use Thursday night, along with a second bar overlooking the Rams Head Center Stage, according to a press release from the Maryland Lottery. The slot machine selection reportedly includes licensed products such as "Wheel of Fortune," "Wizard of Oz" and "Monopoly;" electronic table games include blackjack, roulette, craps, poker and other popular casino games.

The casino generated more than $28 million in of operation, with each slot machine collecting more than $359 each day in June.

Ronald, the machines don't take dollar bills. You dont have to play the whole $5 to play. But really, who wants to put a dollar in anyways? Most people come there to play and how long is a dollar going to last you? And if you go to Dover and a lot of other casinos, theirs doesn't take dollars either. You just sit around thinking of things to complain about.

This county gives me a VERY fertile arena for finding injustice and lies. The issue is that they advertise quarter slots but don't have any slots that take quarters. Sounds like an outright lie or bait-and-switch. Some people have enough self-control to only buy one lottery ticket while others buy multiples. The lottery doesn't advetise $1 tickets and then force you to buy a minimum of 10. Say what you mean and mean what you say or recognize the casinos and the liars they are.

If I am politically incorrect I apologize. The issue is that there are none pictured in the photo. Is the casino 'for whites only'?

No one is forcing you to play the $5. Put the $5 in the machine, play one quarter and then cash out and get your money. Simple.
