A majority of information technology workers believe that they are more competent than their bosses, according to a study from one local company said.
Hanover-based TEKsystems surveyed more than 900 IT workers, and 54 percent said they believed they could do their boss' job better than he or she does.
Moreover, 98 percent of workers rated themselves as excellent or good, while only 69 percent of workers gave the same ratings to their superiors.
IT workers also considered themselves more intelligent and more reliable than bosses, according to the survey.
The survey was released Wednesday to coincide with National Boss' Day.
TEKsystems said the results indicated that companies could do a better job of allowing workers to feel that their contributions are important.
"Clearly IT employees feel they have something to offer that their bosses don’t and not hearing them out may be a missed opportunity for the business,” TEKsystems Research Manager Jason Hayman said in a press release.
