Gambrills General Store Set for Small Business Saturday

The independently-owned shop on Annapolis Road has a wide range of gift ideas.

If you're looking to avoid the big malls on Saturday, the Gambrills General Store will welcome you with open arms.

The store on Annapolis Road will have a special event to celebrate Small Business Saturday, and is already seeing brisk sales of many holiday gifts.

The Gambrills General Store has a variety of holiday-themed items including ornaments, vintage toys, soaps and candles. Store co-owner Janet Garmen said one of the hottest sellers has been Christmas tree ornaments shaped like small animals and made out of coir, a coconut-based fiber.

She also said there has been brisk sales of John Deere logo products, including caps, t-shirts and wallets.

The store will celebrate Small Business Saturday with free food and music for anyone who comes in.

"You can't go to the mall and have them feed you, and hear quiet music in the background," Garmen said.

We always love shopping at the Gambrills GS. They have unique items by local crafters at reasonable prices.
