For Sale: Picture of a Male Stripper in Odenton

A search on eBay for some items relating to Odenton resulted in some interesting finds, including a racy photo from 1980.

It's a fun exercise to scan eBay for things relating to our town.

If you do a search for "Odenton" on the popular online auction site, you will find a number of items from the town's past. We discovered some old yearbooks, old maps, and a vintage matchbook. And the photos available included a big surprise.

Here are some highlights:

"Vintage" Matchbox from Jim's Hideaway - I have no idea whether this is truly "vintage" but it looks pretty old. It features a drawing of a crab with a tophat on. This can be yours for $6.69.

1972 Arundel Jr. High School Yearbook - Yes, that's Arundel Junior High, not Middle School. The student inscriptions have been blacked out, which I think takes away from some of the fun. But this book can be yours for $20.

1878 Map of the County's Fourth District - For the local historian, this could be quite a find. The map is supposedly quite detailed, even showing individual landowners in some areas. Available for $145.

Old Photos from the Baltimore Sun - The newspaper has put a large chunk of its photo archive on eBay, and there are some interesting photos of Odenton. Highlights include images of the rail station, old library, and this one featuring male strippers at a place called "The Hungry Dutchman." Photos range in price, but the stripper photo will set you back $14.99.

Tim, did you leave your Hungry Dutchman's gig off of your Patch bio? Or is this guy among the 16 seeking to be appointed County Executive? Seriously, this is pretty funny -- good find. Let's see if the local ladies bid this one up on eBay or if it gets donated to the Odenton Historical Society.

I just bought one. I think it's going up in my guest room :-)

I think that is a picture of Android dancing on the old O St SE.

@ M.D., you must have gone down there often -- guess that's where you got your fake Patch name.
