National Weather Service Issues Alert for Anne Arundel County

Anne Arundel County is under a weather alert from midnight Monday to 8 a.m. Tuesday.

This winter just won't let go.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Anne Arundel County from midnight tonight to 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The advisory says the area can expect a brief period of sleet and freezing rain, plus one to two inches of snow. Little to no ice accumulation is expected by morning.

Lows tonight will be in the mid-20s. Roads will be snow-covered and slippery, says the Weather Service, making travel dangerous through the morning rush.

After this round, Mother Nature offers the area plenty of warm temperatures to melt off all of last week's snow. Look for highs in the 50s through the weekend.

Tonight: Cloudy...snow...mainly after midnight. Total snow accumulation around an inch. Lows in the upper 20s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 90 percent. 

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of snow in the morning...then sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 40s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 20 percent. 

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 30s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. 

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. A chance of rain showers in the morning. Highs in the lower 50s. South winds 10 to 15 mph...becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of rain 30 percent. 

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 30s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph. 

Thursday: Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s. 

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers. Lows in the upper 40s. 

Friday: Showers likely. Highs in the upper 50s. Chance of rain 60 percent. 

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 30s. 

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s. 

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s. 

Sunday: Partly sunny. Highs around 50. 

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s. 

Monday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 40s.
