A woman said she was sexually assaulted Saturday night in front of a business in the Severn Square Shopping Center on Annapolis Road, according to Anne Arundel County police.

In a press release, police said they responded to a call at 10:47 p.m. on Saturday, and spoke to a woman who said she was sitting in front of the "On Target" store when a man approached her. The woman told police that the man sexually assaulted her and ran off.

Officers on the scene were unable to find the suspect, who was described as a clean-shaven white man wearing a dark-colored puffy jacket and blue jeans.

The case has been handed over to the Criminal Investigations Unit Sex Offense Unit. Anyone with information has been asked to call Detective J. Hartzell at 410-222-3416.
