Students at School of the Incarnation in Gambrills worked with Wegmans and collected more than 1,200 boxes of cereal for needy families.

Students at School of the Incarnation recently partnered with the new Wegmans store on a cereal drive to help hungry families in the area.

Sixth-graders at the school set a goal of collecting 1,000 boxes of cereal, according to Laura Pajerowski, the director of development at the Gambrills school.

Wegmans officials said that if the students met the goal, the store would donate 200 more.

The students and store came through, resulting in more than 1,200 boxes of cereal donated to area food pantries and shelters.
