It's Time for Bulls and Oysters

Several groups have bull and oyster roasts coming up to raise money for various causes.

It appears to be that time of year, when local groups ask the community to sit down and pile their plates with beef, oysters and other goodies.

Several local groups have bull and/or oyster roasts scheduled, with money going toward various causes including stadium lights and fire trucks. In addition to a wide range of food, most events will also have raffles, door prizes and disc jockey entertainment.

On Jan. 27 at 7 p.m., the Arundel Athletic Boosters will host a bull roast at La Fontaine Bleue in Glen Burnie. Money from the sale of tickets will go toward new lights at Carroll Field at Arundel High. Tickets are $40. This is just a bull roast, no oysters. Email boosters@arundelathletics.org for information. La Fontaine Bleue is located at 7514 S. Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie.

The Odenton Volunteer Fire Department will host its next bull and oyster roast on March 3 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30, with all proceeds benefiting the department. Call 410-674-4444 for more information. The fire hall is located at 1425 Annapolis Rd. in Odenton.

On March 9 at 8 p.m., the Old Mill Athletic Boosters will have their bull roast at Michael's 8th Avenue in Glen Burnie. Cost is $40 per person. Email bullroast@oldmillsportsboosters.org. Michael's 8th Avenue is located at 7220 Grayburn Dr., Glen Burnie.
