Anne Arundel County Police responded to the crash at around 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of Solomons Island Road (Maryland Route 2) and West Street.
Police said that Ajia Marketta Owens, 18, was trying to cross Solomons Island Road, from east to west, on the north side of the intersection at West Street. While trying to cross, she ran in front of two vehicles traveling northbound on Solomons Island Road.
One driver managed to narrowly avoid hitting Owens, police said, but the driver of a Jeep Wrangler was unable to avoid her, striking her with the right front corner of the Jeep.

The driver of the Jeep was identified as Johnathan Paul Shipp of Edgewater.
