Man Fends Off Potential Robber on Crossbay Drive

Police said the victim was struck in the face during a struggle on Saturday night.

A man told police that he fended off a potential robber who approached him in his car on Crossbay Drive in Severn Saturday night.

According to a release by the Anne Arundel County Police Department, officers responded to a call of an attempted robbery at 10 p.m. Saturday. A 32-year-old man told police he was approached by a man he did not know.

Police said the man suffered a blow to the face by the suspect who was unable to take the man's money before he fled the scene.

Officers in the area searched with K-9 and aviation units but couldn’t find the suspect.

Witnesses told police they saw a “suspicious vehicle” in the area, described as a gold Honda, but police did not find it.

What do you think when people physically defend themselves when "attacked." How would you respond to a scenario like this?

I think it's awesome. I was attacked by a stranger one morning in college and tried to beat the s*** out of him. He got away but I'm pretty sure he was in pain. It sends a message - "I'm not going down without a fight and you will NOT get away with your crime easily."
