Police Still Working to Identify Woman Who Fled Crash Scene

Anne Arundel County police have not located the woman who they say left the scene of a fatal accident in Odenton on Sunday night.

Anne Arundel County police said they are still working to positively identify a woman who may have fled the scene of a fatal crash in Odenton on Sunday night.

Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy said detectives are continuing their efforts to find the driver of a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado truck, which was involved in a collision with a Lexus sedan on Annapolis Road.

The driver of the Lexus, 27-year-old Tori Stitely of Annapolis, died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Silverado ran off on foot and did not stop to help Stitely, police said.

Police canvassed the area on foot and by helicopter, but could not find her Sunday night. The truck was left behind at the scene.

Police described the fleeing person as a woman with brown hair, wearing a pink tank top and jeans.

According to accident investigators, Stitely turned onto Annapolis Road and pulled out suddenly into the path of the Silverado. The two vehicles collided and both came to rest on the south side of the road.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section at 410-222-8573.

Was the Silverado stolen? If no, wouldn't the person who owns the truck be able to identify who was driving their truck?

That's what I was wondering. Something's missing here. Unless stolen, how can they not identify the driver of a truck that was left at the scene?

It's an ongoing investigation, so there's a lot that we don't know yet. I'm wondering the same thing.

Are there any new updates on the woman who fled the scene in the accident that killed Tori Stitely?

Is there any way that Patch can provide additional follow up to articles such as this one, the one about the woman killed in the single car accident on Telegraph Rd. recently and the article about the man who died in police custody after he was picked up on Piney Orchard Parkway earlier this year?
There are often accusations flying around in the comment section on Patch (police brutality was mentioned in the case of the man who died in police custody, for example) and it would help clear some things up if there is follow up.

Thea, I think there was a follow up to the story about the man who died while in police custody on PO Pky. It was a follow up story or Tim had several follow up comments about that.

Tim - What happened to this Story? How did the police not find the driver when they had the vehicle?
Perhaps she was related to someone in the county police, like the driver who "fell asleep" and hit the roundabout in Piney Orchard
