Police Issue Warrant in Theft at Basketball Game

School Resource Officers report that an Odenton teen robbed a fan during the Arundel-North County basketball game on Wednesday.

Anne Arundel County Police have issued an arrest warrant for an Odenton teen who they say robbed a younger fan at a basketball game at Arundel High School on Wednesday.

In a press release, police said the warrant charges Rodrecus Shaqueil Medley, 18, of Retreat Court, with robbery, theft and second-degree assault in connection with the incident during the game between Arundel and North County.

Police said a School Resource Officer for Arundel High was assigned to the game, and noticed Medley, a former Arundel student enter the gym with some friends. The resource officer reportedly watched Medley closely due to some previous knowledge and experience with him.

During the game, police said the resource officer noticed Medley put his arm around a younger boy in the stands and the boy pushed Medley away. Medley then left the gym, police said.

Later, the School Resource Officer for North County High noticed that the younger boy was upset. The boy told officers that Medley approached him and began patting his pockets, eventually reaching into his pants and stealing some money before leaving the gym.

Police obtained an arrest warrant charging Medley with robbery, theft of under $100 and second-degree assault. Medley is reportedly still at large.

This could also be considered a sex crime, the article does say he reached into the boys pants.
