Police Charge Severn Woman in Liquor Store Robbery
Annapolis Police say Lahoma Johnson Parker, 44, of Severn, hit a liquor store clerk in the head with a vodka bottle and stole his cellphone.
A Severn woman has been arrested after police said she hit a liquor store clerk on the head with a plastic vodka bottle and stealing his cellphone.
Annapolis Police arrested Lahoma Johnson Parker, 44, at her home in the 1800 block of Hawk Court on Friday. She faces seven charges, including robbery, armed robbery, second-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure, reckless endangerment, disturbing the peace and theft of less than $1,000.
The arrest stems from an incident on Sept. 28, in which police said a woman walked into Capital Liquors on West Street and bought a bottle of Rikaloff vodka and a pack of Newport cigarettes. The clerk reported that the woman argued with him about whether she paid with a $20 or $10 dollar bill.
The argument escalated and the clerk told police she struck him over the head with the bottle when he went to dial 911 on his cellphone. She then grabbed the phone and left the store, police said.
Police reported that Johnson-Parker knew why she was being arrested and said, "Yeah, I hit that man over the head with that bottle."
