Piney Orchard Bloom to Become Food Lion Again
The parent company of the grocery store is eliminating the Bloom banner and closing 126 other stores.
The Bloom grocery store in Piney Orchard will become a Food Lion again, as the parent company of both grocers undergoes a restructuring.
Delhaize America announced Thursday that it will be closing 126 Food Lion stores, and that it will be eliminating the Bloom banner.
A list of affected stores obtained by the Washington Post shows that the store at the Village Center shopping center in Piney Orchard will be one of 42 stores converted to the Food Lion brand.
The Bloom in Piney Orchard had been a Food Lion when it opened in 1998, but was converted to Bloom several years later. Now it's converting back.
The conversion will happen sometime in the first quarter of 2012, the company said.
The Food Lion store on Annapolis Road in Hanover will not be affected.
