One thing to note: Bloom has always been generous in donating about-to-expire bread and other items each week to the Christian Assistance Program food pantry. One hopes that they will continue to do so after reverting back to Food Lion.

I worked the grand opening of Foodlion as a cashier back in high school and I remember the store being a no thrills store. No Pharmacy and no floral department so will they be going back to that? I used to love the super low prices and how easy it was to find stuff in the store because it carried only the basics, I sure hope the redesign brings that back.

Really like Bloom - don't care for Food Lion!

I hope it's just a name change. I use this pharmacy and it's low priced prescriptions. I agree the staff are great. Martha always stops to chat whenever she sees us shopping.

Bloom has also been wonderful to Odenton Elementary School by donating things for various activities. I am very happy the store isn't closing and quite frankly prefer the Food Lion over Bloom.

This reminds me - has anyone heard any news about the old SuperFresh location in Odenton?

I also agree about the people at Bloom. One example - when a cashier out on break noticed that my car wouldn't start a couple years ago, he offered a jump start.

We were not so enamored with the Food Lion format when we moved here, but loved when they became Bloom's ... particularly the enhanced meat/seafood department and the improved produce. We also really appreciate the personalized assistance from the pharmacy. I sure hope that they are able to retain these services! Otherwise we'll be back to shopping for all but the basics elsewhere, which will be a shame!

Most of the staff at Bloom are terrible-- deli staff non-attentive, cashiers argue with customers and customer service staff who reluctantly help you. I hope Food Lion has standards for employees. The pharmacy staff are great and so helpful. The rest of the staff could learn from them.
