Odenton Gulf Station Now Takes Credit Cards

The service station on Annapolis Road has routinely charged less than most competitors.

The Gulf service station on Annapolis Road in Odenton has always had some of the least expensive gasoline in town, but there was always a catch: it was not possible to pay at the pump.

The station remedied that issue recently by upgrading pumps to accept credit cards.

This may seem like a little thing, but I for one drove past that station numerous times because I either had a toddler in the backseat or felt like I was simply in too much of a hurry to run inside to pay.

On Sunday, the Gulf station was charging $3.35 per gallon, which was one cent cheaper than the Shell station across the street. It's not the cheapest in Odenton—that honor goes to the Hess station closer to Fort Meade, which is charging $3.27—but it's among the least expensive.

It remains to be seen whether we'll see higher prices at the Gulf station now that customers can pay at the pump. But for now, many residents may find it's a nice upgrade.

Are you more likely to stop at the Gulf station now that you can pay at the pump?

For me it's all about price. I use the Gas Buddy App to locate the best price in the area where I live and work.
